The ocean is a relatively-untapped resource for exploration and treasure hunting, but sunken ships and coral reefs are ripe with trinkets and valuables. Divers have easy access to these sites, but finding anything worthwhile may be difficult without underwater metal detectors.

The advantages of underwater metal detectors include:
• They’re small and compact - easy to carry
• Can be used in the rain without mechanical problems
• Most jewelry is found in 6 feet of water
• Depth penetration will not interfere with mechanisms

Underwater depth detectors must come with waterproof headphones to be useful for divers. Sound can become distorted through water or a diver may not have an accurate reading-but headphones make detecting accurate through direct sound delivery.
